Q&A Wednesday

Q&A: Are you working hard enough in yoga? (& your June calendar!)

This is one of those questions I think we’ve all had but were afraid to ask at some point or another. Yoga is supposed to be about just letting go and having no destination in mind, right? We’re not here for shallow goals or to stroke our ego, right?

Ehhh, it depends who you ask. I definitely think that having goals and benchmarks in your practice can be a good thing, but striking the balance between working too hard and not working hard enough can be a difficult one to find. Especially if you come from gym culture, any type of sport background, or you just have a competitive nature, this Q&A is super important for you to watch.

Over to you! What’s your opinion? Have you had to adjust your effort in one direction or another in your yoga practice?

PS: Your June calendar is HERE! I’m obsessed with this one! Click here for the printable version.

For me works the principle of Ashtanga:
    train 6/7 days 1.30h
    10′ mantra+warmup,
    1h workout,
    5′ cooldown+savasana+mantra

BUT I practice different styles and on 1 or 2 days Yin (restorative) sessions, others strong vyniasa or core/power, just on saturday Ashtanga serie. A. everyday is too boring and to hard for me :-))

    what’s your practice like?

Thank you for the advice, I have completed your yoga sessions, but I am new to your web site. (30 Day Yoga Challenge) I am currently working with a trainer to tone and loose weight. I use your yoga sessions to relax and stretch my muscles post workout. I appreciated the great advice and
signs to look for when working hard enough or working to hard. Thank You

PLEASE tell me you know that “netflix and chill” is a euphemism for something ENTIRELY different, right??? If you do, excellent! Continue forward! But if not…I just want to make sure you because that can be pretty embarrassing. Haha. I had a friend that had no clue and was using that phrase ALL. THE. TIME. and she nearly died when she found out! haha.

But thank you for the calendars! They are excellent!
