Hey, Bad Yogis! We had such great fun getting to know some of our PBYPers recently, that we’ll be continuing this monthly. Simply because we can’t say it enough- the Bad Yogi community is unlike any other, and there are SO may wonderful individuals supporting one another.
Kicking off our monthly features is another loyal yogi to the ‘Perfect Body Yoga Program’ (PBYP) community is Elisabeth Vigneault. Elisabeth is simply a joy. She’s thoughtful beyond belief, encouraging, and always one to spark positive conversation within our community.
Q. How would your partner/closest friend describe you?
My partner describes me as uncomplicated, sexy (his words, not mine 😉), caring, kind and thoughtful, with a little splash of stubbornness and impatience as well as a whole bucket of sarcasm! He calls me his goddess… how could I not be in love with him?! ❤️
My closest friends say I’m funny, happy-go-lucky, loyal, sensitive, endearing, frank, honest and with a lot of integrity and a good heart.
Q. How do you find motivation when it feels like you have NONE?
For the past 5-6 years I have been doing a 15-minute gentle yoga routine every morning when I wake up to start my day right (except on Sundays). For the past nine months, I have added a 10-minute meditation afterwards – which I absolutely love! I think that having a routine is the key to motivation. It’s like you don’t have to think about it, you just do it because it’s just… what you do!
However, I’ve recently realized that it’s not the end of the world if you skip your workout for a day or two, a week or a month… Life happens and sometimes your mind or your body is just not into it. Just acknowledge it, don’t hang on to it, and move on!
Q. What do you think your purpose is?
This is such a difficult question to answer! As I grow older, I believe that my purpose is to be the best mother that I can be for my son. To just be there for the people around me and simply be a genuine good human being.
Q. Do you feel like you’re living it?
I believe I am…
Q. If all food was “health food” & there were no negative health impacts, what would you eat every day of your life?
Potato chips, red wine, pasta and poutine
(I’ll let you Google that last one! 😉)
Q. Chair pose for 1 minute or plank for 1 minute?
If my back is on the wall with my knees at a 90˚ angle, I would go for chair. If it’s “regular” yoga chair pose we’re talking about, I’ll take plank any day of the week!
Q. What’s one fact that may surprise people, or that not many people know about you?
When I was younger, I wanted to become a coroner. When I told my parents about it, my dad replied: “That’s fine, as long as you don’t bring your homework home with you!!”. It just fascinates me! I’ve been known to watch educational autopsies on YouTube…
Q. What do you wish you would see more of in the world?
Kindness, compassion, patience and love.
Q. What do you love/appreciate most about the Bad Yogi Community?
The fact that everybody is welcomed, never judged, and gets a ton of support and cheering, thus the #badyogisunite. I have made some great friends in the PBYP group, some of which I was blessed to meet in person and they are all just wonderful humans! I wish that the whole planet could be part of the Bad Yogi tribe; things would go way smoother and be a lot less dramatic… I’m so grateful to be a Bad Yogi!
