Naked Nutrition Review + Giveaway!
At the risk of sounding super cheesy and like a totally basic wellness blogger, I’m actually genuinely happy to be working with NAKED NUTRITION to bring you this giveaway!
They reached out offering to send me a couple products in exchange for a review and giveaway, which as you know, I almost never do. But there were a couple reasons why I decided to this time…
1. I appreciated that their products are simple with no additives, preservatives, junk or fillers.
2. I was actually looking for some collagen to try for my insane postpartum hair loss so this came at just the right time.
I just learned that collagen in this form doesn’t get absorbed into the body, HOWEVER, it’s basically pure protein which I had no idea about until I got this package and read the ingredients. While not vegan friendly, it’s 9g of protein per tiny scoop, but more on that later. Either way, I was excited to try this!
NAKED COLLAGEN– MY THOUGHTS:
– It’s Dissolvable!
I heard it was dissolvable in water, but you know how that goes, right? SOOO often when things say “dissolvable” it means it still leaves a sediment you have to get over. This stuff is actually completely dissolvable. Like, it disappears in the liquid you put it in.
– It’s tasteless.
It’s made of from beef and I fully expected it to have at least a mild beef-jerky flavor, so the suggestion of putting it in my coffee was a hard no for me at first, haha. But NOPE. It tastes like nothing, truly nothing. I put it in plain water and in coffee and I couldn’t taste it at ALL.
– Less expensive than competitors.
Let’s just call a spade a spade: Naked Nutrition collagen holds 60 servings and a tub costs $42. Vital Proteins holds 20 servings and costs $43.
Does it work?
Collagen products can’t do everything, so I’m not using it in hopes of a miracle. We had a chemistry professor weigh in on this and he said, “You can think of supplements as oil in a car. A car needs oil to survive and drive. You wouldn’t just keep putting oil in a car without checking the dipstick first. Why would you do that to your body? Because an Instagram influencer said to take collagen? How do you know that’s why you have acne until you check your own ‘dipstick’ (tests and stuff at the doctors) and see what you’re lacking.”
One thing I *am* using it for is an extra shot of protein that won’t make me feel overfull or force me to down something disgusting and gritty. So to that point, I’ll say it’s serving the purpose I was hoping for, but it’s not a miracle product.
NAKED PB POWDER– MY THOUGHTS:
– Tastes good!
It tastes like peanut butter (surprise, surprise, right?! Haha) so it’s not a questionable flavor if you mix it into oatmeal or a smoothie.
– Basically pure protein.
I like that this is a plant based alternative to protein powder. If I want to make my breakfast oatmeal vegan but don’t want that signature “protein powder” flavor, this has been a fantastic way to make sure I get what I want.
– Big nutritional value.
It’s low carb and keto friendly (if that’s your jam) with 90% less fat than peanut butter (if that’s something you watch out for).
I’ve been eating peanut butter powder for a few years now just because I sometimes swap it out for regular nut butter. I like to vary where I get my fats from but I also LOVE the taste of peanut butter! So I don’t want to miss the flavor in my smoothies, but I want the fat from something else sometimes.
Overall:
I was really happy with both of these products! I thought they delivered on exactly what they said, the flavors (or lack thereof) were exactly what I wanted, and the price was great!
Naked Nutrition is going to giveaway one tub of collagen AND peanut powder to one person, too! To enter to win, just comment below and I’ll pick a winner from there (limited to US & Canada).
Winners will be announced on Instagram @badyogiofficial on Friday 1/10/2020. Good luck!

January 6, 2020 at 10:38 amI’m 13 weeks post partum and have been curious about supplementing collagen. I’ll definitely be looking more into it. And peanut butter powder is still such a funny concept to me but I have to admit that it’s way better in granola than trying to mix in actual peanut butter.

January 6, 2020 at 10:38 amThank you for sharing! I’ve never heard of these products before. I like the idea of adding them to my smoothies. Love the bad yogi club! X thanks Erin

January 6, 2020 at 10:43 amOh, interesting! I’m super curious to try these two products. I’ve used their Naked Whey in the past and like that it’s pretty clean without an overpowering flavor. Been looking for a collagen replacement though for added protein in smoothies!

January 6, 2020 at 10:48 amI have tried collagen supplements in the past but did not like that they were loaded with additives. I would love to try this stuff to help with some autoimmune issues that have wreaked havoc on my gut, skin and hair. Having peace of mind knowing you’re helping your body heal and flourish with clean ingredients is always a plus!

January 6, 2020 at 10:51 amI’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I’ve been taking collagen throughout as a way to supplement protein (and maybe try to fend off those scary stretch marks). And Peanut Butter is my life blood!

January 6, 2020 at 11:04 amI’ve been looking for a good protein powder! I’m intrigued by the collagen, I’ve tried Vital Proteins and I can taste it in my water-im not a coffee drinker and I only drink tea sometimes so I’m left with water for collagen and I cant get over the taste. Thanks for the recommendations!
Heather Klemm
January 6, 2020 at 11:06 amI would love to try something different than what I currently use, the collagen I have doesn’t mix well. I love the flavor of PB, too!

January 6, 2020 at 11:13 amI was diagnosed as hypoglycemic a couple of years ago and was appalled at how much sugar was in the powdered peanut butter that I owned at the time. I love natural peanut butters, but I don’t always love the calorie count. I would love to try this product! It might be just what I am looking for.
Ashley Killam
January 6, 2020 at 11:20 amI LOVE powdered peanut butter and have never tried collagen before, but would be really interested in trying it! Thank you so much for this!

January 6, 2020 at 11:23 amThanks for the great review Erin! I’ve been using primal fuel but looking for a new lesser cost option and one that has a bit more protein to support all the great strength training I’ve been doing with PBR! (Can I just say the muscle gains from PBR are amazing! I have little guns!!) happy new year to you Adrian and Theo! 😘 xx
LeeAnne Do
January 6, 2020 at 11:25 amI would love to try these! I’m just starting to get into smoothies for breakfast/ after a workout. But this stuff is SO expensive just to try it. It would be amazing to try them to know if I should buy more! ❤️ Thanks for the chance!

January 6, 2020 at 11:34 amI bought some PB powder a few years ago, but then we found out my son had a peanut allergy so I threw it out before even trying! Now that he has challenged out of the allergy, I keep saying I’m going to try it again. Maybe this is the push I needed! Thanks for the review details!
Erin

January 6, 2020 at 11:44 amGosh I’d love to try this! Honestly I don’t think I’ll be able to afford to try it on my own for a while so this is my only chance 🙂

January 6, 2020 at 11:46 amMy husband and I have been hearing the hype on collagen but havent used it. We have recently been looking into a plant based protein and never thought about powdered PB. We already use powdered PB in our shakes or in oatmeal and love it!

Jessica Schury
January 6, 2020 at 12:06 pmThis looks and sounds great!!

January 6, 2020 at 12:10 pmYou had me at peanut butter!! But also love the fact that the ingredients in these products are wholesome and nutritional, without a bunch of additives and junk. I’ve actually wanted to try the protein powder for a while, but I have never gotten around buying a container and trying it. This is neat! Love that you are doing a giveaway of products you have honestly reviewed.

January 6, 2020 at 12:36 pmOh, good reviews. I like the price breakdown vs vital proteins!
Amy
January 6, 2020 at 12:39 pmLOVE the chem professors explanation on the need for supplements. It’s best to know what you’re lacking before just taking this product because an influencer says it will do “X” for you. Appreciate your review of these products!
Joanne
January 6, 2020 at 12:45 pmI’ve been using PB fit – I would love to try this product containing collagen! I’m an over 60 bad yogi & would love to see it add some ooomph to my hair!

January 6, 2020 at 12:49 pmOh! I’ve been thinking about trying some collagen as a source of protein! It’s great to hear a first hand review, and I’d love to try it!
Jennifer
January 6, 2020 at 12:55 pmI’d love to try these and I appreciate that you mention that collage can’t be absorbed by the body in this form, so it’s not a “quick-fix” for hair, skin, nails, etc. I’m always looking for ways to mix up my protein consumption!
Angie R
January 6, 2020 at 12:56 pmGreat review. I would like to try these.

January 6, 2020 at 1:30 pmGreat review and great giveaway! I am still really up in the air with the collagen, but would love to try the PB. It is so hard to find a protein that isnt chalky or grity with that nostalgic protein powder taste.

January 6, 2020 at 1:31 pmI never ever tried them before, but not I think I will 🙂
Thank you for this 🙏

Diana
January 6, 2020 at 1:51 pmI read product reviews about as often as you post giveaways! And my criteria is similar to yours. Thank you for being honest and not pretending this is a miracle product to solve all of my life problems when in fact, it is mostly an good source of protein for a busy new Mom. I wish more products fit your criteria that make them worth an actual review.
Sam S
January 6, 2020 at 2:03 pmI would be really interested in trying these! Not 100% sold on the collagen fad all the sudden, but I’d give it a try for sure. I too love peanut butter so I’d for sure love to try this powder out too.
Aaryn
January 6, 2020 at 2:08 pmLooks amazing would love to try it!
Melissa
January 6, 2020 at 2:09 pmThanks for the very honest review. I have not tried this brand but it looks great. I used a different brand that does not have this much protein and am very interested in trying it. I love mixing a scoop of collagen with a packet of electrolytes as a recovery drink after my daily dose of 1 hr cardio. My muscle fatigue is much more controlled that way. PB powder sounds great in a smoothie as a plant protein. Thanks for the suggestions.
Amelia Hall

January 6, 2020 at 2:31 pmCollagen is my favorite way to sneak in some protein, and if you’re really fancy, it’ll even help with frothing up your latte/coffee! I’d love to try some from this brand and the peanut buttah!
Rebecca
January 6, 2020 at 2:34 pmI would really love to try this! I haven’t tried a protein powder yet but I have tried collagen in my shake.

January 6, 2020 at 2:53 pmLoved the additional information on collagen. Have been thinking of trying it myself, but maybe I need to re-evaluate why I would want to add it to my diet. And I personally feel that peanut butter is a daily need haha! Would love to try these!

January 6, 2020 at 4:14 pmJust heard someone talk about collagen supplements yesterday and then I see this! Yes, I would love to try these products—it’s tough to get enough protein in and I’m soy intolerant which limits my options.

January 6, 2020 at 5:00 pmI use Vital Collagen now and it’s very annoying that it won’t last a whole month. The collagen has helped me manage my knee pain though. I had surgery in my teens and my knee has alway aches since.

January 6, 2020 at 5:18 pmI have been looking for a collagen powder that is dissolvable and completely tasteless! I’d love to try!

January 6, 2020 at 6:10 pmI’ve wanted to implement a protein shake into my diet but so far most of the ones I’ve tried just simply taste nasty and gritty! I’d love to try this!!! So many benefits of just simply adding that extra protein into my diet!

January 6, 2020 at 6:21 pmOoh! Looks great! I’m trying to go vegan for the month of January to figure out what stuff I’m allergic/have issues with (I know lactose is one of them, and gluten may be) which makes getting good protein in a challenge. This would be great!

January 7, 2020 at 9:46 amI’ve been intrigued by PB powder for awhile but given that it can be quite expensive and I primarily use my nut butters for spreading (on toast, apples, rice cakes, etc.) I’d been moreso waiting to get back into smoothies in the summer to try it out. This brand sounds great though – always a fan of less ingredients – so hopefully I can source some here in NS, Canada (if I don’t win of course 😉 )
Megan
January 7, 2020 at 9:53 amWould love to try this! I’ve been looking for a good protein supplement that doesn’t leave a nasty taste!

January 7, 2020 at 9:54 pmThank you for being honest!!! I have been on the fence about collagen and I just stopped taking any and all supplements—love the chemist you quoted. But I would like an easy way to add protein without having to taste it! Also PB is the best!!

December 29, 2022 at 5:47 amSounds very good. In fact, in addition to a good diet, it is also very effective to use whey protein 1 kg which will help you achieve your sports goals in the best possible way. This is very effective even in my experience.
