FREE CLASS! Post Run Yoga Stretch

Hey everyone!

How are you? Has your week been fun and productive?!

I’ve got a very timely class for you today which is inspired by a new semi-hobby of mine… I started running recently, mainly because I got hooked on Orange Theory. This is highly unusual for me because I’m a staunch believer in the fact that running is never necessary unless someone is chasing me πŸ˜‰ But let me tell you– I totally feel for all you runners now! I feel really good after a run but I absolutely NEED to stretch out my legs and hips, otherwise I wake up feeling like the Tin Man the next day.

I’ll probably do a few like this, but for the first installment, this is a quick flow with tips to help you stretch out after a nice run.

And hey, even if you’re not a runner at all, this is still a class that will feel amazing after a long day at the office or a sedentary afternoon parked on the sofa πŸ˜‰

Let me know what you think and what you’d like to see next!

I picked up running about 2 years ago and suffered hamstring tendinitis last fall. Shortly after, I was introduced to your videos and they have helped me tremendously. So glad you have created this video for runners, it is my new favorite!

Thank you! I normally do the yoga for runners from the 30 day challenge so this is a welcome change. And, it’s come at the right time, I am so sore after too much running and gym work this week! I can’t wait to do it tonight. Your videos are so easy to follow πŸ™‚

Perfect timing! I too just started running again, or slogging (slow jogging) as I like to call it. I am 6 weeks into a C25k program and the “runs” are getting longer and I definitely need to start a more consistent and organized stretching routine. This looks like just the thing I need! Thank you so much!!

Thank you! I’m really trying to get back into a regular running habit (instead of on and off every other month) and I’ve also been having a lot of tightness in my hips after having to stand at work all day. I love hip openers and short flows like this are so much easier to fit into my schedule than full 45+ minute classes.

I started running literally 2 weeks ago in preparation for a fun run that I am doing tomorrow…eek! I am sure that your video will be much appreciated after tomorrows run. Only problem is it is called the colour run so will be covered in powder paint and glitter whilst doing it…bad yogis rule lol!

Thanks, that felt nice, esp. the foot massage. I would like a few ideas for joint flexibility.

Really enjoyed the soothing energy this brought to the end of my practice for today. For someone who is always wanting to make my yoga really strong and challenging, this was a good reminder to go slowly and take care of all the parts I work hard! Thanks!!! πŸ™‚

Thanks for the video. Today is my 32nd birthday. I started it off with a 4 mile easy run and this was a great way to stretch out afterward. I’m expecting my first bad yogi tank in the mail today too! Yay!!!

My fiancΓ© and I are prepping for our very first Tough Mudder which we will try to attack in 4 weeks. Today was the first time we did yoga together and who would have thought my fiancΓ© can get his knees lower than me in double pigeon?! πŸ˜› Anyway, we loved your class and cant wait for more. Since we also do a lot of strength training, a yoga stretch class for after strength workout would be amazing.

Have a wonderful rest of your weekend.

Just did this after a two hour run – for some reason my legs were feeling like lead but now they feel all tingly and fantastic! Thanks for sharing it. Will be passing it on to my running pal when she gets home from vacance. Think this might be good for my hubby’s legs too – he’s a mountain bike guide, so he’s always using them lots!

I love this! I don’t think it stretches all the areas that I need to stretch after a run BUT it includes some that I have never thought of or worked on, like the feet. Thanks so much!

This looks fantastic! I too was a non-runner but have been “running” on the elliptical every other day and this looks perfect! I can’t wait to try the foot/ankle stretches, and I was so excited when you suggested sticking your fingers between your toes! I was like “yes!” LOL. I love stretching my toes.
