Forward Fold: Am I Doing This Right?!
I wanted to try something new, so today I’m introducing this new mini-series called “Am I Doing This Right?!” Each episode will focus on a different pose with the main points and pitfalls of each.
Today is all about Standing Forward Fold! It’s just over a minute long, so we’re only covering the most important points 😉
Enjoy!
Over to you! What poses do you want me to cover next?

January 31, 2018 at 6:39 amAwesome idea this new series on how to do the poses. Thank you ! Will they be also available on the Studio App ? Looking forward for the tutorials on: upward dog, cobra, sphinx. I’m really struggling with back bends like that, my back can’t arch backwards. 🙁

January 31, 2018 at 9:27 amThanks for this series. Since I do yoga at home, I don’t have anyone to correct my form and always wonder if I’m aligned correctly. My most uncomfortable pose is actually Warrior 1, would love to see some help with that:)

January 31, 2018 at 9:38 amLove this! super helpful I think for those of us who are visual learners. And I thought the instructions were pretty easy to understand.
& thank you for showing us all, yoga is not about being perfect & for being authentically you.

January 31, 2018 at 9:46 amThanks for this great tip! Would love to see one on chaturanga with knees down, as I have to modify due to hand issues and never feel that I’m doing this correctly. You are awesome!

January 31, 2018 at 10:06 amThank you! This is not really a pose, but I would like to get better at going from downdog to feet to hand position. My belly gets in the way.

January 31, 2018 at 11:41 amLove this so so much! 100% of my practice is at home, with no one to recommend adjustments to my form, so I LOVE when teachers in videos give directions on how to better access what a pose has to offer your body and mind. You are great at this, and this series is just going to take it up a level. THANK YOU!!!!!

January 31, 2018 at 12:04 pmI would love to see a tutorial on chataranga. I feel like my arms aren’t strong enough and I just end up flopping to the ground lol

January 31, 2018 at 4:26 pmThanks for this new series! Really enjoy it. I’ve been struggling with figuring out whether I’m doing poses properly or not and really like that you pointed out the “where” of things. I’m aways worried whether I’m “micro-bending” my legs, or accidentally hyperextending my joints….knowing that this is intended to start at the hamstring really puts it all in perspective. GRAZIE MILLE! 🙂

January 31, 2018 at 6:52 pmPlease do pidgin!!! I have a persnickety knee and I never know if it’s safe to have the bent knee bent all the way in or if sacrificing depth to keep the knee at a 90 degree angle is best! Help! And lizard! A lot of the time I think I’m just stretching the back hip flexor!

January 31, 2018 at 7:02 pmPigeon! I have, let’s say, thick thighs and a lot of extra junk in my trunk. So I’m not sure how to do pigeon correctly. Do I sit on my hip of the bent leg or try to keep it lifted? Maybe put a block under my rump to modify?

January 31, 2018 at 8:05 pmLove the concept here for this series! As someone with super tight/short hamstrings, this is a great pose to start with!
Next pose suggestion, I humbly put forth pigeon
