Original Yoga Challenge Day 16: Learning Yoga Splits

Hello, wonderful friends! Are you ready to learn how to do the yoga splits?!

Today’s flow is all about learning how to do them! I know, I know– you might be freaking out right now, but have no fear! We’ll break it down a little at a time so you feel as warmed up as possible before trying such a challenging pose.

You won’t need anything special for today’s class, so just relax, and enjoy the process of learning 🙂

So, over to you! I can’t wait to hear about how it went! Do share!

I didn’t even get close, but my hamstrings feel great after this and they are always sooo tight! Thank you.

Why do I always have feet cramps when doing poses to stretch the legs? Is there anything I can do about it? Thank you!

Goodness! I was getting there! Definitely with some practice I’ll be there before I know it. What was the story you mentioned? I couldn’t understand what you said.

This is very difficult. Especially for those of us who do other things besides yoga, like run. I practice yoga in a studio 3-4 times a week and still cannot do this. I like how you had us warm up first, but even then, with the steps, it was very awkward trying to slide right into it as you did. Maybe one day. Thanks for doing this challenge!

That felt so good. Didn’t get all the way down but was super close on my right side. Erin, one of my favorite things about your classes has always been how you build up to the more challenging poses/aspects of the class in a way that I feel like I can do them – even if not fully now it seems attainable. You’re really great at that!

I second Angie’s comment! Although I probably will never get the splits you don’t make these things seem impossible, Erin. I think it’s a big part of why your classes are so accessible for all and why you are an excellent teacher. Thank you 🙂
