Original Yoga Challenge Day 8: Yoga for Back Flexibility

In today’s class we’ll be working on poses and sequences for back flexibility. So, we’ll work poses that prep you for all different kinds of backbends, from beginner to advanced.

Of course that means we’ll be improving our back flexibility which makes for better posture, less pain, and greater range of motion to do the things you enjoy doing on a daily basis.

Over to you! How do you feel about backbends? Honestly, I think most people either love them or hate them and I’m always planted firmly in the “love” camp 🙂

    Loved this one so much! Back bends are my happy place and I appreciated the step-by-step guidance for camel and wheel. Great practice and I can’t wait for tomorrow, namaste!

    I agree with Nelly. Your guidance for camel and wheel were the incredible and made those poses so much easier for me than they have been in the past. Loving the challenge so far—and I’m already further into it than I was when I tried doing it on DoYouYoga.

    I’m definitely in the “love” camp too! Been working on getting all the way up in full wheel so I appreciated your explanation of how to safely get in and out of backbends and your encouragement that it will eventually happen so there is no need to rush! Loving the 30 day challenge 🙂

    Excellent, clear, quick instructions on camel pose! ???Toe tick version was so clearly explained, I did it easily and same with feet flat! Thank you ! ??The wheel pose and instructions were great too ! ?

    Even though I do yoga once a week at the gym I’m learning how I am not flexible. I recognize it takes time to accomplish poses, camel gave me a nice stretch in my quads and back and was more than enough. Thank you for the variety of items you are working

    I´m definitely the one to love backbends! Especially after I finally got up to wheel pose last summer, my favourite, and camel as well! However, I´m not really liking balancing postures so I´ll need to set the mood for tomorrow´s class 😉
