“I Am Me”: A Meditation on Self-Acceptance
I am me. 45 years young with some amazingly beautiful freckles sprinkled on my body. The freckles on my face work together to create some pretty unique shapes. A few of my sweet friends have pointed out that a cluster of my freckles make the shape of a heart. This heart is a reminder for me to have complete love for myself. Is that sweet or what!
I am me. Wearing my natural hair which is thick, full and course. My hair tends to have a life of it’s own. Tangled and out of control some days and shiny and in control the next. Rich brown color with gray highlights…that’s right I said highlights. The two colors compliment each other so well. My hair and I spend a lot of quality time together.
I am me. Enjoying life. Doing cartwheels in the store as my husband smiles and shakes his head. Celebrating birthdays with my daughters at Disney Land and freaking out when my youngest daughter, who I call ‘baby precious”, trades in her state identification for her state divers license. Oh so many emotions I went through that day.
I am me. Creating hilarious memories with my friends. Friends who appreciate me for who I am. We travel, we laugh, we cry and drink some amazing wines together. Our shenanigans will always keep us connected. How my friends and I have come up with such creative ideas is truly insanity. They say laughter is good for the soul. My soul is like, ok….ok…I can’t laugh anymore; I’ll pee on myself! #LYAOP
I am me. The only me I’ll ever be. No desire to be anyone else. Simply me.
I am beautiful, I am loved, I am me.
