Do you feel tired? Like you have so much to do and there’s no way to keep up with all the work? Do you feel overwhelmed, messy and like you’re drowning in everything around you? Good news – you are not alone. Nor is this situation permanent! It happens to the best of us: we fall behind with work and there’s just no getting back into it without sacrificing something else, creating a magic circle you just can’t seem to break. But there is a way, and it consists of doing some or all of the following things:

Declutter

When you are surrounded with junk and clutter, your mind will feel the same, and you won’t be able to focus your thoughts and find the answers you need. The best way to start is to think about what are the places where you spend most of your time when you have to focus: you work desk, bedroom, bathroom or perhaps your kitchen? Get a big garbage bag and a big cardboard box and start throwing things away. If they are useless, in the garbage they go, but if they can be donated, gifted, sold or used another time – put them in the box. It’s hard to be honest with yourself and really get rid of all the things you should be throwing away, so it’s a good idea to have a friend or a family member with you to really bring you back into reality and make you explain whether you really need that bear-shaped fruit bowl you found at a garage sale that one time.pile of jeans

Clean

Now that you can actually reach all of the surfaces in your living and working space, it’s time to clean them. But forget about the expensive and dangerous chemicals that can be picked up on store shelves: natural is the way to go. Mixing some warm vinegar with the same amount of warm water and adding a few drops of essential oils will create a universal surface cleaner that gets rid of dust and dirt and helps you maintain a clean home. You can also make your own, natural toilet pods, dishwasher pods, a floor cleaner and almost any cleaning supply. Put together a cleaning schedule that makes you clean a tiny bit every day, because if you let it pile up, you won’t be able to find the motivation to do it.clean laundry

Recharge your body

When we don’t have the time to take care of our home, we usually don’t have the time to take care of our bodies either. Make sure you are eating healthy, full meals (preferably homecooked) and eating natural boosters like curcumin, which will help you stay healthy and energized. If you don’t have the time to cook, search for local healthy food restaurants and turn to them, rather than processed fast food. Let go of your phone

It’s no secret that we spend too much time on our phone every day. And while our phones, social media and all the apps we use have helped us tremendously, we have to admit that they’re not without flaws and that we can afford to use less of them. For every moment you spend on your phone, make sure you spend the same time being mindful and making meaningful relationships with people in real life. When you go to sleep, leave your phone in another room and invest in an alarm clock so that you don’t have the excuse to bring your phone in. If you are meeting someone, turn off the sound on your phone and leave it in your bag. Just let go of technology that controls you and get back into reality. Practice mindfulness

Do you ever actually stop to consider yourself? Or do you go through the motions of your day without really thinking about it? Do you ever feel like what you’re doing doesn’t have much meaning? Then perhaps it’s time you start being more mindful about your life and living it to the fullest. Try meditating several times per day, especially in situations when you feel stressed or lost. Think about your purpose and you will find a solution for any problem. Try to be present in the moment, no matter what you are doing, and even when you are reminiscing or letting your mind wander, be aware of your body and mind in that moment.morning meditation

It’s not always easy getting your life back into shape, but it’s completely possible. Remember that this isn’t a one-time fix. If you only do it once, it will get messy again, and you will have to apply the same techniques one more time.
