Happy July, Bad Yogis! We’re thrilled to be shining a bit of light on the lovely Anni Reid this month.

Anni is such a welcomed addition to the Bad Yogi Community, and wildly supportive of everyone who needs it. She’s even contributed articles to Bad Yogi Magazine, detailing her experience with a 24-Hour Fast. Basically, she’s the bees knees and we are so glad to have her in our Community.

Q. What is your full name?

Anni Reid

Q. What country/state are you from?

Originally from Manchester, England; but I’m now living in Victoria BC, Canada

Q. How would your partner/closest friend describe you?

Kind and very likeable. I tend to be able to connect and talk to anyone. I’m genuinely interested in other people!

Q. How do you find motivation when it feels like you have NONE?

I’ll check in with myself about what my intention or goal is and remind myself why I want it. With working out for example, if I’m not feeling motivated to workout I’ll think about why I want to do it in the first place, maybe check the Bad Yogi Facebook group for inspiration, and perhaps I’ll do something less intense.

Q. What do you think your purpose is?

To help others live their healthiest, happiest, and most authentic life.

Q. Do you feel like you’re living it?

I feel like I’m starting to. I think over the past few years I’ve started to pinpoint how I feel when I show up authentically in my life and how I affect other people. I’m very passionate about health and treating our bodies with love so I’m training as a health coach!

Q. If all good was “health food” & there were no negative health impacts, what would you eat every day of your life?

Potato Chips 😋

Oh that’s easy – plank!! Chair pose is evil!

Q. What’s one fact that may surprise people, or that not many people know about you?

I actually went to University to study music and majored on the Saxophone! I come from a very musical family yet I am a terrible singer!

Q. What do you wish you would see more of in the world?

Awareness, forgiveness, and personal responsibility. Awareness for our own emotions and not numbing them. Forgiveness for others because they are also working through their own stuff. Responsibility for how we feel and the lives we’ve created.

Q. What do you love/appreciate most about the Bad Yogi Community?

It’s a family. You want advice on a pose? Ask the community. You took a selfie and need some love? Share with the community. You have a completely non yoga related issue and need some advice or support? Ask the community. I’ve been in the group for almost 3 years and I’ve never seen a mean or snarky response. Different opinions are given with respect. It’s a beautiful space.

Q. Why Yoga?

It connects me to my body. It’s a form of moving meditation that leaves me feeling grounded and in my body. Plus it’s movement that can be done anywhere. You don’t need fancy mats, or clothes, or a monthly subscription (although I’ll never give up my BYS subscription!) and you don’t need to be flexible.
