7-Day Bad Yogi Yoga Challenge, Day 5: Yoga Backbends & Full Wheel Pose

Welcome to Day 5 of the challenge, everyone!

How’s it going so far? Can you believe that we’re so close to the end? I’m already sad, hahaha!

ANYWAY, here we are at Day 5 and let’s revel in today without getting caught up in the future, right? 😉 Today is all about backbends and YES, I’ll totally walk you through Full Wheel Pose towards the end! Here’s one thing to remember though: I might give you the option to go in to Full Wheel, but it is exactly that– an option. If you’re not feelin’ it today, just wait until next time.

It’s a great sequence for improving posture and gaining flexibility in the back and spine, so whenever you’re ready, let’d get started!

I didn’t think I would like this one as the title seemed pretty scary, but it has been one of the most satisfying flows – even though I couldn’t manage a full wheel, bridge was just right, and my back feels wonderful 🙂

Erin, I hope you’ll have some more full-hour flows coming soon!

I am trying to work on back bends, so this class was awesome for me to realize I’m very stiff! More than I thought. I recently got a dharma yoga wheel. Could I practice with it the full wheel pose? I mean, can I integrate it to this workout? Alternatively, do you have videos with the wheel?
Thank you for the class, and this challenge. _/\_

    Erin,

Thanks for all of these awesome videos! Quick question – for full wheel, I feel like I have enough upper body strength to push into it, but not the upper back flexibility to straighten my arms all of the way. What can I do to work on this?? Thanks!

I was nervous to do this class, backbends are not my favorite, but I thought I need to get out of my comfort zone. I got closer to full wheel than I ever have before surprising myself. Thanks Erin!
