7-Day Bad Yogi Yoga Challenge, Day 3: Flow to Side Crow!

Welcome to Day 3 of the Bad Yogi Yoga Challenge!

I feel like it’s cruel to REALLY push your limits for two days in a row, but I’m a glutton for punishment 😉

Before you run screaming in the other direction, hear me out: I’m not going to pretend that this pose is a walk in the park. It CAN be difficult, no doubt. But here’s the thing… you have no idea what you’re actually capable of until you give it a shot. So before you write it off and write this off as a failure before you even begin, STOP! Go through the class, and if Side Crow doesn’t happen today, give yourself a high-five for trying and count that as a win!

We’ll take it slow with a few poses to warm up a bit, and then we’ll dive right in to Side Crow! Well, we won’t exactly “dive” but you know what I mean 😉

Who’s ready?! You’ll have to let me know how you do in the comments! And how many times you tried even after the video ended, lol!

[Free ebook] Stop worrying whether you’re doing a pose right, or if you are doing something that will eventually require a few trips to the emergency room. 🚑

Aahh, that was fun! I was actually able to do both sides, although I looked like I had wobbly noodle arms. Looking forward to tomorrow!

No way I could do it either although I did manage to put more weight in my hands than I did the one vague attempt I gave it before!

My body isn’t (yet) ready for this one, but it was a great chance to work on nailing my regular crow!

I never bothered trying this before. But like in the first challenge I tried that had regular crow, I decided to give it a try. I was quite pleasantly surprised that I was able to it. Only one side but I’ll take it. Thanks Erin, for the gentle nudges out of the comfort zone!

Hey, that’s why we call it “Bad Yogi Yoga Challenge” right? If it wasn’t a challenge it wouldn’t be fun, and i tried like 6 times on each side, but my knee slipped from my elbow, maybe with shorts… haha thanks Erin!

I love your classes Erin, always.. can’t wait to see what’s in the next one but when I see “crow pose” I’m like ohhh noooo agaiiiiin.
I haven’t managed to do the normal crow pose either and when it’s coming up again I’m feeling a bit frustrated. I guess sometime -eventually I m gonna learn it. 🙂
Thanks for pushing the limits 😉

Didn’t make the side crow either side. I did a regular crow for a few seconds at the end to make myself feel better! That was a tough one Erin, but glad I tried it!

i’ve always liked your yoga segments ….. gone back to many of them many times. unfortunately, not this one. sorry to say it’s probably the most disappointing. my brain can’t wrap itself around the positioning to even attempt to get off the floor. similar issue with crow and it nothing to do with lack of confidence; more lack of comprehension.

So what is most likely limiting me the most, my lack of flexibility or big belly? Probably both, as well as weak abs. I feel like my knees are digging into my arm too. Same thing as in full crow.

Could barely get up for half a second! But like others it did give me the opportunity to practice a full crow pose. My triceps will be sore tomorrow and I will probably have a slight bruise on the back of my tricep since I could feel my knee poking at it!

Tough! Didn’t make the side crow but I did regular crow, and it had been awhile, so that was good.
Also, that tank top! Is it new in the store? Love!

Thank you Erin! That was awesome! I have been wanting to do this pose but it never made sense. You broke it down beautifully for me, and even being tall, scrawny, and yet bottom heavy, I was actually able to stick it for a second!

Couple days behind…day 2 yesterday and day 3 today. Is this why my arms and shoulders are sore? Loved side crow. Can’t do it but was in the same boat with regular crow a year ago and now I can do it! Side crow, I’ll get you too!

Thank you Erin! This was so much fun, I´m able to do the modified version on the right side – but also very able to fall and laugh about it 🙂 I also feel the modified version is easier then the full crow which I´m still working on, so it´s nice to get a arm balance I can actually do 🙂

P.s. Every time I do not feel like doing yoga it´s just because I´ve forgotten how amazing your classes make me feel – thank you so much!

So I saw this E-mail in my inbox and I was like, no way I’m ever gonna be able to do that!
And then….I made it into side crow the second try! Super duper excited 🙂 Thank you for explaining this so well, and making it a lot easier because of that!

I’ve been working on crow (and now side crow) but feel like my arms just aren’t strong enough, there’s too much weight on my feet still. Any recommendations for that? Am I not quite prepped for the pose yet or do I need to do more to strengthen my arms? Thanks!
