5 Bad Yogi Mantras

We often hear teachers say at the beginning of class, “Set an intention or mantra for your practice”…and, for me at least, I always have my “go to mantras” ready – “inhale, love…exhale, peace” or “I am patient, I am strong” – which are all good and fine and definitely get the job done, keeping my mind from wandering and helping me focus on the things I need more of in my life. BUT…what if instead of our traditional mantras we went for something a little more…BAD, sometimes.

  1. Inhale, Pizza…Exhale, Ice Cream – Feel free to insert any delicious food you LOVE!
  2. I am BADASS, I am KILLING IT – It’s true and AWESOME.
  3. From the WINDOW, to the WALL – Anyone else seen the movie “The Proposal”?
  4. There will always be wine – The one who is always there for you.
  5. You are gonna look GREAT naked. – A little self-esteem boost never hurt anyone.

Over to you: What “bad” mantra do you love? Comment below!

I laughed out loud. In the middle of class. The truth of this post in monumental. My mantra on Wednesday evenings is [inhale] “Chipotle” [exhale] “burrito”. Why? Because my husband and I have a Chipotle date night every Wednesday when I get home from the studio. It is definitely a motivating mantra. Thinking about my stak burrito filled with cheese, sour cream, and gauc encourages me to work hard so afterward I can confidently exclaim that I earned that burrito haha

I relly loved this post! I’m from México so we have a few “Mexican Mantras” in a ver folkloric way
“No es mi pedo” is like “Is not my problem”
“A la chingada” is like sending the problem or person far…far…away!
“Me vale madres” is like not caring at all
    Hope you enjoy!
    Lots of love!

“I am so fab” has always been my mantra. Gotta remember to spaarkle and shine 🙂
