The end of a year and the beginning of a new can be incredibly powerful. It’s a time for reflection, contemplation, and intentions. We take step a back and reflect on the year coming to a close. Sometimes, this can be a painful. Reflecting on difficult emotional times, or maybe we didn’t accomplish what we set out to do. Or maybe, you had a fabulous year and you wonder how you can top it, which creates anxiety. The first thing to do is take a breath and know…it is all good. Allow yourself time for reflection and contemplation but without judgement. Without thoughts of ‘good’ or ‘bad’. It just is.
With the powerful energy of acceptance, let’s talk about three things you can do now to cultivate an unstoppable momentum of miracles in 2018!
Connect with your heart
This is a topic I am passionate about and could write for hours on but I’ll keep it short and sweet here. Let me give you some mind-blowing facts first. Our heart is the most powerful organ in the body and not just physically. The hearts magnetic field is 5000 times stronger than the magnetic field of the brain and 100 times stronger than the electrical field of the brain! Our hearts energy field reaches out up to 10 feet beyond our body. This means that we are communicating to the world before we even speak or come within an arm’s reach of someone. You know how you get a ‘gut feeling’ around someone before you even know them? You’re tapping into the energy of their heart! The electromagnetic field of the heart carries the emotional energy and information we carry in our heart. Powerful stuff! What are you holding on to? What are you carrying in your heart? How are you presenting yourself to the world?
Do this quick exercise before setting your intentions for 2018 (or anytime!).
- Sit quietly and place your palms on your heart or in Pranamasana (prayer position) in front of your heart.
- Close your eyes and take several rounds of breath, breathing in for a count of 5-pausing-exhaling for a count of 5.
- Feel the energy of your heart. What does it feel like? Heavy? Light? Sad? Erratic?
- Ask your heart, what do I desire? What do I need? What is the Universe trying to create through me?
- Sit in this space for as long as you need.
- Allow your eyes to flutter open and write down anything that came to you.
- Our heart speaks to us every minute of every day. We just need to ask and then listen. Your heart is the seat of your soul. Trust it.

Set your intentions
Now that we’ve connected with our heart we can set our intentions from this heart space ensuring they are of the highest good for ourselves and for those around us.
You have a ton of options here on how to set intentions but be sure to choose whatever resonates with you. I like to write my intentions on of a piece of paper and create a ritual around burning them with sage, chanting, and singing crystal bowls. There is no ‘right’ way only YOUR way. So find what ceremony or ritual gives you that powerful feeling of creation and manifestation and then connect with your heart as you send your intentions into the Universe!
OM DAKSHAM NAMAH~My actions achieve maximal benefit with minimal effort
Here’s the difficult part. Once you connect with your heart space, set your intentions, and perform your ceremony/ritual, let go. Release the need to control the outcome. Let go of the picture in your head of the way you think things should be. You told the Universe what you’d like to manifest, now release. When we truly apply this difficult step, more often times than not, the Universe manifests something grander than we could have ever imagined. What we end up creating is the stuff of dreams because we let go. We did our work-setting our intentions and working towards them-but we let go of control over the outcome. This may be difficult to do but I promise you, it is more than worth it!
That’s it! Three simple tips to creating the stuff of dreams for 2018! I’m wishing you a gloriously happy, healthy, peaceful, and abundant 2018!
